To ensure that the production progress of the 2024 crop season is completed as planned, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development requires that, for the ripe Chiem spring rice area, the People's Committees of districts, the district-level town and the city direct farmers to urgently harvest to quickly prepare land for crop production. Speed ​​up the land preparation process as soon as harvest is completed, plow deeply into the stubble, retain water in the field, combine the use of organic biodegradable products, and add lime before plowing to limit the source of pests and avoid organic poisoning for rice plants after planting.

Coordinate closely with irrigation exploitation companies to have timely water supply plans for land preparation and planting, check drainage pumping systems, dredge canals, and clear water flow to ensure timely drainage when heavy rain occurs. Arrange appropriate seed structure and planting time, and prepare backup seeds to promptly replant damaged areas (if any).

For early winter crop production areas, direct farmers to proactively plant short-term rice varieties and tea plants; plant seed early before July 10 to have enough land area to plant valuable early winter crops such as peanuts, corn, melons, and vegetables of all kinds.

Promote propaganda and guide farmers to apply "3 reduction, 3 increase" cultivation methods, expand production according to VietGAP and organic standards for vegetable crops to increase production value.

Well implement the work of estimating and forecasting pests and diseases of crops and proactively guide farmers in production areas on timely prevention measures for pests and diseases on seedlings and rice such as white-backed planthopper, brown planthoppers, leaf rollers, stem borers, leaf blight, bacterial stripe, etc. according to the instructions of specialized agencies.

Organize inspection and examination of organizations and individuals producing and trading plant varieties, fertilizers, and plant protection drugs in the area, ensuring there are enough sources of seeds, fertilizers, and plant protection agents of good quality for production. Promptly detect and strictly handle organizations and individuals producing and trading plant varieties and agricultural materials that violate the provisions of law.
